I’m getting one of the new aluminum macbooks – have heard that the hard drive is easily replaceable, and will be wanting to replace its 5400rpm 250gb hard drive for a 7200rpm hard drive (apple themselves don’t offer this). What types of hard drives are compatible? I obviously don’t want to buy a hard drive for it only to find it doesn’t work. Will any old notebook hard drive work? Thanks – will immediately give best answer.

lacie Mobile Disk Review

Sorry for me being a bit rushed, was in hurry cos I wnted to do the whole thing in the break of The Gadget Show. The Mobile Disk comes in two versions: 160GB – £55 250GB – £70 A similar product is the lacie Little Disk. The main differences are that there is no power, two firewire ports, is unjustifiably more expensive and the USB cable is built in. I also saw the rugged hard drives which are pretty cool with the orange rubber padding and aluminum. www.danielfoggin.co.uk
