17. lacie Hard Disk MAX 2TB, Design by Neil Poulton Review
External hard drives are definitely getting cheaper as technology progresses to solid state disks at much higher costs. The advantage? You get 2TB of storage space for a lot less now compared to yesteryear. Lacie hard drives are usually quite a popular choice and design is probably one of the main reasons why. How does this rather simple but aesthetically pleasing hard drive perform? Check out the review. tech-lobby.com

Congratulations Neil Poulton! You’ve designed a black box! I see more awards in your future!
Are you being sarcastic?
I had a 1TB LaCie Hard Drive (Not the Neil Poulton one), and I found it completely RUBBISH. The disk got very hot and made all kinds of weird noises. After a while it just stopped working and all my data was gone. There was still waranty on it, so I got another disk, in this case the Neil Poulton one. I am pretty satisfied about it. There’s not so much noise coming from it and it’s still working properly!
Can every One send me the Lacie setup Assistant? Very good Video
Just a couple of questions about this drive:
1) When the PC is powered off (but still plugged in) does the blue LED still show?
2) Does the drive spin-down?
3) Can the blue light be turned off?
thanks
Absolutely not! If I could design a black on black box with a little slash through it, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I just lack the vision to exhibit such extreme design prowess.
@8ballbreakandrun
I believe he designed more than just the case the hardware is in…
This video whould me much more better if you just talked a bit slower. For me, who are not an englishmen or american, it’s hard to understand when you speak that fast. Besides that, it was a good video!
Wow, very informative review, awesome!
Iown the 500 GB version of this HD, and the drive does not make noise. The blue light goes off when you turn the power button off on the back. When the PC is on, it does not affect if the drive is on or not, the user has to turn the drive on and off.
no one needs to send the Set Up Assistant to you. It is already on the hard drive after it gets formatted and installed. If you need software support, you should contact LaCie via their website. (hopefully you have also registered your product as well on the website).
my LaCie Neil Poulton 500 GB HD works great. I bought it back in the early spring of this year.
I noticed that the disk makes a lot more noise than LaCie claims. I have the idea there is a fan in it, even though LaCie says there isn’t.
In 2030 people are going to lol at this big device same as we’re loling with the 1970s devices.
That was an absolutely brilliant review! Quick and Simple, yet easy to understand and very informative! I hope to one day produce videos on par with this! Thank You!
Great Review but what is that i saw on 1:50 ….. Satan Worshiper
@AaronBalitskyz haha very funny lol
yea, what was with the masonic sign?
lol this ugly piece of shit will be obsolete by the year 2020
Mark of the beast is required nowdays ….
“They” named it Symbolism…..is there maybe somewhere serial number with “triple six” ?
Note, in Revelation 19:20, the people who take the mark are deceived! This means they are tricked, or that they do not know the full implications of what they are doing. The may not realize that taking the mark is an act of worship, or that it is an evil action.
1:50 is illuminati
How much design skill does it require to design a black box?
@AaronBalitskyz LOL
@Barry3443 ahahah
Well.. if you look at the designers from cooler master… A LOT OF SKILL.
The haf case is one of the most ugly thing I have ever seen… and many companys that desing tech think that it’s “cool” to put grills, 5 colors leds, bliking logo and so on…
